The extension causing the problem appears to be Simple Mentions. And the new error is an addition to the old one, which now actually prevents subforums from loading. The new enhanced error is returned AFTER disabling the extension (and clearing data). Oh, and Simple Mentions does not work on my forum, apparently unable to access the registered user database.That is still the same error as in your original post. SQL error is caused by the absense of thebtopics sorting key.
You could try to check if it's some extension issue by for example disabling all the extensions 1st, and if the error is gone then enabling extensions one by one until the error arises again. This way you can get what extension is the cause.
But, can you provide a list of the extensions installed on the board?
I'll provide the entire list of extensions in a little while.
