Between the post viewtopic.php?t=2408816 on the phpBB forums from eight years ago, and sneaking a peek at osTicket's code, the phpBB core team should have no problems adding a few settings to the main config file to allow admins to easily enable MySQL over SSL. ![:)]( "Smile")
I will probably implement that work-around from the aforementioned article to secure things on my end for now.
