Currently, phpBB does not allow administrators to preset notification preferences for new users through the ACP, nor does it provide a way to view the default notification settings for newly registered users. It would indeed be a useful and administratively necessary feature to allow predefined notification settings for user groups by default. Such functionality would enable administrators to ensure consistent communication settings for all users and streamline the onboarding process. Therefore, I will vote +1 for this article.
